  • In the South West of Finland
  • 255 pupils
  • 13 classes

Our school is a primary school in the south-west part of Finland. The surrounding forest and the lake as well as the historical area of Ruukinpuisto and two UNESCO heritage sights, Sammallahdenmäki and Old Rauma nearby offer us a unique learning environment. The school provides basic education and concentrates on building a strong foundation for the future studies.

At the moment we have 13 classes, around 250 pupils and 35 staff members working in our school. Our mutual aim is to treat every pupil as an individual and to be respected and valued. They have equal rights and opportunities to receive high quality instruction and guidance, no matter their social or economical background. The school and the community offer a wide variety of individualized support for the pupils; health care, personalized student counseling, psychological counseling etc.

Our main goal is to give our children the values and transfer the skills needed in different life situations in the future. We emphasize critical thinking, problem solving, decision making and social as well as emotional intelligence.

Both international and environmental education play an important role in our school. Our aim is that our pupils respect others as well as their environment and they have the tools to live a balanced, healthy and active life in a way that is sustainable. All in all we still have a lot to learn and to do on this matter.

In addition our country as well as region is well known for its biotech as well as cleantech innovations. Our motivation is to study more about these subjects, how they are realized in a Finnish way of life at the moment, and let the others learn with us at the same time.
